LIKE THIS? PIN IT FOR LATER.

I fell in love when I was in first grade. A neighbor gave me a cloth-bound copy of The Secret Garden. I was too young to understand the story's themes, but I adored it because of how it me feel. My neighbor saw a piece of me in the pages of that book, and I responded with my whole heart.

The spark of connection and recognition is still one of the most powerful parts of reading for me and why, in my opinion, books are one of the best gifts for kids. A book is solid, important, and permanent, yet somehow personal and intimate.

If you want to hook a child on reading, give them a book picked especially for them. To help you do that, I have been compiling a list of book gifts that is organized by popular kids’ names.

Look here to find more great gifts for preschoolers and kindergarten aged kids.

Kids LOVE seeing their names in print.  I hope you can use it to pick out a special book and grow a life-long reader.

Here’s a bit more about the list.

  • These books are for everyone. The books are organized by popular first name, but I included titles that are noteworthy and/or inspiring and that I own or would love to own. I made an effort to choose a diverse group of titles.

  • This is a work in progress. Because I was so choosy about including high-quality books, some top names aren’t represented here. I only included titles that have merit beyond their connection to a first name. If you have book ideas for popular names not included here, I would LOVE to hear so I can include more! Please comment below, e-mail me, or connect with me on social media.

  • I  only picked one book per name, and in some instances that was SO HARD to do. I’m working on more lists of books, so be sure to sign up for my newsletter to hear about new content. I would also love to hear about alternative title choices for the selections I have here.
